NOTD: Essie Lady Like

Haven't wrote in a long time, I've been attempting to get back on my routine of school, yay (sarcastically) and hope you had a good summer! Anyways, today I am wearing a polish called Lady Like by Essie. I was in the mood to wear a somewhat simple polish instead of a crazy hot pink or bright neon green. Fun fact, this was my first ever polish since I haven't got into nail polish until last year. I would consider this polish a somewhat neutral color with a hint of purple.

This is a tan-ish purple polish. The formulation is pretty good, but may be a bit streaky now and then. I would have to say this polish is somewhat opaque, but opaque enough for just two decent layers. It has a somewhat shiny finish and of course it would look nice with a shiny top coat.
(two coats)

You can purchase this product at any drugstore for around $6-$8.

Do you remember your first ever polish? If so, what was it?

Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick- Pink In The Afternoon: Review & Swatches!

Todays product I am showing you guys is the Revlon Super Lustrous in Pink In The Afternoon. I am a big fan of the majority of Revlon's lipsticks from its formulations to the multiple colors.

↑(Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in "Pink In The Afternoon 415")→

The lipstick is a bit of a true pink but it is a little toned down and that it has a cream finish. The formulation is very soft/ creamy and very pigmented, so fortunately you can sheer it out a lot to your liking.

 Swatches:

(R →L: 1 layer, 6 layers)

I have shown 1 swatch with only 1 layer of the product while the other one shows several layers of the same product, I am so amazed how pigmented this product is from 1 layer to several and they both look very alike. As you can see, when the lipstick is swatched or used, the finish has a pretty sheen glazing over the color.
 (Before)
(After)

You can purchase this item at any drugstores that sell Revlon products for around $9-10.

Let me know what you favorite Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick is?

Benefit Creaseless Cream Shadow/Liner in Silver Spoon: Review & Swatches!

I bought this online from Sephora because they had an online code, where they give you a free Benefit Creaseless Cream Shadow/Liner in Silver Spoon. Of course, I am a person who cannot pass up on these good deals, so I definitely went for it! When I first got my package, I saw the packaging for the cream shadow and it's so cute with little patterns.

As I opened the tiny box, there was a really cute quote on the lid of the box and I thought that was nice. And, as you look into the box, you see the cute label on the cream shadow with little tiny doves.

I am loving how the color is a really pretty somewhat shimmery silver color. When I felt the texture of the shadow, it has a silky & soft feeling and it glides nicely.

I, of course wanted to compare this product right next to the famous Maybelline Color Tattoos. I know the colors are not alike at all, but I was comparing with the formula, packaging and whatever else I was looking for.

As shown in the picture, the packaging is somewhat similar but the Color Tattoo is a bit larger and bulkier.

Although Maybelline's cream shadow packaging is larger, Benefit's contain more product by .5g.

This new product will probably not replace my Tough as Taupe but I am going to use the Silver Spoon as well. They both have a very creamy consistency but the Silver Spoon has a bit of a silkier feel and the Tough as Taupe is a bit thicker. When I wore both products without any lid primer, the shadow didn't crease and it lasts a long time, which is good.

If you'd like to purchase the Benefits Silver Spoon or their others colors (Purple Snap, R.S.V.P, Tattle Tale, Get Figgy, Skinny Jeans, Flatter Me , Strut, Busy Signal, Birthday Suit, Ice Shot, Tidal Wave, Top Brass, and Pot O' Gold), you can get it on Benefits website or Sephora for about $19.

What's your favorite color or type of cream shadow?

Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick - Pink Velvet: Swatches & Reviews!

I had recently purchased this Revlon Super Lustrous in Pink Velvet. I've been a huge fan of Revlon's products, especially with their lip products.

(Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Pink Velvet 423)

   ←              →

This lipstick is kind of deep pink, with a bit of a blue undertone. It has a cream finish and leaves a bit of a sheen.

Swatches now:

(R→L: 1 layer, 5 layers)

It was a little hard to get the true color with my camera but it's about that dark just add a little tint of pink to it. The formula is very soft and creamy which helps the product blend and you can sheer it out a lot more to what's most comfortable to you. As shown in the swatches, the 1 with the 1 layer and the other with the several layers, they both look somewhat similar in pigmentation. That shows that this lipstick is highly pigmented, which is good that it is creamy so you can sheer it out a lot more.

 (Before)
(After)

You can purchase this product at any drugstores that sell Revlon products and they retail for around $9-10.

Let me know what your favorite lipstick is, would love to know!

NOTD: OPIs You Callin' Me A Lyre?

Today's nail polish is probably one of my favorite nail polishes by OPI because it's a very pretty sheer pink. This polish is in the New York City Ballet collection with other pretty sheer polishes as well. I feel like it can match basically anything because it's so neutral and simple. This color looks perfect for a french manicure or even just alone.

OPI's You Callin' Me A Lyre?
←            ↑            →
 (2 coats, without top coat)

I am absolutely in love with this color because it's sheer it helps your nails still look natural, but I feel that it just enhances your nails and make them look 100x better than before. As shown in the picture, the polish gives off a glossy/shiny finish which is good especially since my nails were top coat-less (because I had run out my top coat). So now I know that if I add a top coat it will add a beautiful shine to the nails. Also, I am especially in love with the name of the polish and how they put a tiny pun into the name.

This nail polish is sold at any drugstore that sells OPI nail polish and it retails for around $8-9.

Let me know what your favorite natural/french manicure is, I'd love to try them!

New! Smashbox Ultimate Eyes Brown Swatches & Review!

I had recently purchase this item online with a few other things. This item was only $10 when it's a $22 value, so obviously I couldn't pass up on that, especially since it's so neutral I can get tons of use out of it! I've never tried Smashbox before so I thought it was a good deal.

Smashbox Ultimate Eyes Brown
←               ↑

The product is about palm size and the colors are so beautiful and neutral. The colors are very pigments and they feel very silky/velvety when applied. In two of the colors, cabernet and shimmery sienna, have a bit of shimmer but not too noticeable that someone is going to think "WOW! She's got some shimmer on her eyes!" The other two colors, ivory and matte navy, are matte.

The colors do last, because as I was washing my hands from the swatches and I did have to rub a bit on the shadows. This palette can be definitely used for like a smokey/ night out look. I am definitely going to use the ivory color as a brow highlight and for all over the lids. These colors are so nice, I might get the other Smashbox Ultimate Eyes in Hazel.

You can purchase this at Sephora for only $10 for either the Brown quad or the Hazel quad.

Have you tried this little quad, what do you think about it?

Rimmel London Lasting Finish Lipstick - 08: Review & Swatches!

I've been recently loving lip products and especially lipsticks that are neutral colors that can be worn everyday. I've heard great things about Rimmel London and I own one of their lipsticks but in the Kate Moss collection and I fell in love with the one I have, but sadly the color is a bit to bold for me to wear everyday (by the way it's a deep red). So I had decided to purchase a brand that I love, but that I can wear everyday. I have been loving this color and type because of its shade as well as scent.

(Rimmel London Lasting Finish Kate Moss Lipstick- 08)
←       →

(camera didn't fully show the color, sorry)

The lipstick is a mauve-y pink with a hint of brown/purple tint.

Swatches now:
(R→L: 1 layer, 5 layers)
This lipstick has a nice creamy formula which makes the lipstick glide on smoothly, and while applying you can taste a bit of a cherry taste as well as the scent. Swatched on, with 1 layer it is quite pigmented and with several layers of it can be very pigmented. I think that the packaging itself is very unique and cute with a cool looking style of a slanted cap.
(Before)
(After)

You can purchase this product at any drugstores that sell Rimmel London and it retails for about $5-6 (good deal to me).

Let me know if you like Rimmel products and which is your favorite?

NOTD: Color Club Blue-Ming

I received this mini nail polish in my July Birchbox. This color is in the Summer Pastel Collection from Color Club and it is a bright pastel teal color. I decided to wear this because it's a fun bright color that fits the summer time.
←Color Club in Blue-Ming (top coat-less)

The formulation is very opaque but at the same time, it's very streaky so I needed to apply at least 2-3 coats. The brush applicators are like the usual, skinny long bristles. Luckily, when the polish is applied, it has a pretty shine (exact shine in the pictures because I had finished my top coat).

I was happy when I received this color in my birchbox so I could try this brand out because I've never seen and heard about this brand so it brought me to a new world. I really like this color, but I don't know if i will be getting this brand for a while because, one, I don't know where they are sold and two, I'm just lazy.

You can purchase this at... (researching)
...on the Color Club website for $8.

What's your favorite summer polish?

Mini Drugstore Haul! (Review & Swatches)

Hey! I finally decided to buy two Revlon products at my local CVS and Rite Aid. I really wanted to buy these products for a while now, but I just never got myself into buying them. There are some raves on the Revlon Photoready Cream Blush so I decided to buy the most wearable one, to me, which is the color pinched. I also bought the Revlon Colorstay in Delightful, because I just wanted a neutral quad.
(Revlon Colorstay quad- Delightful 575 & Revlon Photoready- Pinched 100)

The Revlon Colorstay quad is pretty pricey, but luckily my local Rite Aid was having a sale with 40% off of the Revlon products, so I ended up getting this quad for only about... $4.674→$4.67.

Now the swatches:
(I had a lot of trouble with taking the picture because the colors weren't really coming out, but this is probably the truest one to the colors that I actually took, except the pink, beige and black are sparkly)

Pros
1. The colors are neutral
2. The matte off-white and the dark glittery brown/black are somewhat pigmented
3. If you don't want the most vibrant color, then the shimmery salmon color and shimmery pink/beige aren't really pigmented
4. I only got this for around $4.67
5. Packaging isn't too bad/ Compact
6. There are many unique shades of the quads (Addictive, Luscious, Precocious, Adventurous, Brazen, Siren, Seductive, Goddess, Inspired, Attitude, Enchanted, Moonlit, Serene, Bombshell, Decadent, and Delightful)
Cons
1. Pricey if you didn't get it on sale
2. If you wanted very pigmented shadows, the majority of these shadows are not pigmented
3. You really have to build up on the shadow if you want it to appear exactly the way it is in the packaging
4. The shimmery salmon and shimmery pink/beige are pretty chalky

Overall
This product isn't absolutely terrible but I don't feel like it's worth the whole $8 and so I wouldn't get it again because it's price and the shadows aren't really pigmented, unless if the one I got was a mess up and maybe the other quads are better and I'm just having bad luck with them. But I do like the ideas of the unique shades that each quad comes with so maybe I will one day try them out again later and I might fall in love with them and have better luck.

Revlon Photoready Cream Blush is very pricey and it runs around $15 at drugstores. I luckily had 2 "$5.00 off"coupons for my local CVS, so I ended up getting this product for only $4.79.

Now the swatches:
(Sadly, my camera didn't give the product justice because I had trouble sticking out my arm while taking a photo)

Pro
1. It can be used on the cheeks or lips
2. The color comes out almost just like the way it's packaged, so it's pigmented
3. The packaging is really nice; I've heard it's like MAC's tendertone's packaging
4. For me at least, the label is somewhat centered because some of the labels aren't and when it's not centered it can kind of bother me
5. If you don't mind a little scent, then this is fine because it has a tiny scent
6. It has a creamy and silky texture
7. There are 3 different unique shades in total (Pinched, Flushed, and Coral Reef)
8. I got this product for only around $5
Cons
1. Pricey if you don't have a coupon there's no sale for the item
2. If you don't like any scents, it may bother you because it has a tiny scent
3. If non-centered labels bother you, it might be a problem since some come not centered
4. Only has 3 shades, it's be nice if they had more

Overall
I am loving this cream blush because the color is true to what it looks like in its packaging and can complement different skin tones as well as give a flush of color (as if grandma had PINCHED your cheeks, get it? 'Cause that's what the color is called). Anyways, I also enjoy how you can use this product on your cheeks or lips if you want to give a bit of a peachy tint and simply using your fingers or brush to apply this silky/creamy product. Sadly, this product is very pricey and so I would wait until I get another coupon.

You can purchase these items at drugstores that sell Revlon products.

Let me know what you think about these products and maybe you had a better chance with the quads than I did.

p.s. After writing this post, I ended up trying the quad on my eyes and it actually doesn't look half bad.
