Sephora Colorful Palette in Matte Madness 15! (Review & Swatches)

I can't believe it is already 2013! Guess the world did not end. I am so sorry for not posting any new posts, it has been so long! I have been very busy with school work and everything around it. Erg, so frustrating. Also, I have not bought any new items until now, I bought this circular palette at Sephora as a Christmas gift for my mother. Luckily, she had not used it yet, so I got to take pictures and swatch it as a new item.
(Sephora Colorful Palette in Matte Madness 15)

As you can notice, it's a circular palette with 5-shadows. These shades are great for those who enjoy neutrals and mattes. The colors are very simple and a great item to use in your everyday makeup routine. The palette is very compact and it is quite thin (looks about 0.5 in), so it is a great palette to travel around with to touch up or to use as your only palette when you're on a vacation or trip.

With the simple colors, it is great for beginners because it doesn't have an overwhelming amount of shadows and on the back, there are directions for where to place the shadows on the eye to help achieve a certain look (natural or intense). But since makeup depends on you, you don't have the follow the placements of the shadow on the back. Create a look that is most comfortable to you.

As I mentioned before, the palette is compact and thin. It may not look obvious but the palette is quite small. Small enough to fit in the palm which is great for traveling and it is also lightweight (0.19 oz).Like many palettes, it is very popular to have the grid-like formation with a clear lid that has a hinge as it's attachment. This palette has a sleek, shiny, and black plastic-like appearance. The plastic doesn't seem to be poor (worst) or high (best) quality, so in the middle (a little flimsy, but barely).

All 5 of the shadows are very soft, it feels a little like baby powder. Fortunately, they are not chalky or flakey. The majority of the shadows are pigmented, but the ones that are not, can be layered so it'll have more pigmentation. This is somewhat random to mention, but I feel that the shadows smell a little like sunscreen? (maybe I am just going crazy, not sure). The shadows that were swatched on my hand lasted a long time with a good amount of pigmentation, and it's also paraben-free.

I think that the product is really nice and there are so many palettes with variety of colors. Most likely, there will be a palette that will suit you and your personality/the look you want to get. I had thought the palette would be somewhat cheap, but it was more than I thought it was. If you are willing to spend the money, I would suggest taking a look at the display of these palettes and see if you want it.

You can purchase this at Sephora (store or online) for $24.

Have you tried these palettes? What do you think about them? What's your favorite or want to try?
